Roles Mother, Grandmother, Retired secondary and TAFE teacher, Volunteer Speaker for Amber Community (formerly Road Trauma Support Service Victoria, Many other community roles over years as Volunteer
ES Roles with CFA have included fire fighting, secretary, treasurer, community education, brigades in schools, chairperson, ICC, Media Liason, delegate to VFBV, VRFBA and Women's Reference Group, special projects, brigade welfare and probably more - I mostly do not keep score of what I do. I am in my local brigade and also the Headquarters Brigade. Our headquarter's brigade have a good percentage of women now which is great - it is a very happy and supportive brigade. Things have come a long way in the inclusion and valuing of women in CFA, but still more to be done, kindly! My philosophy is treat everyone as you would like to be treated but call out what is not reasonable and just. There are lots of jobs in CFA that women can do and enjoy. Together, everyone contributes to the team effort - we all are a part of an important team and community service.
